Auriculotherapy is a needle-less form of acupuncture based on traditional Chinese medicine. Specific points on the ear are stimulated through a mild micro-current. These specific points on the ear correspond to specific points/areas of the body. This is very similar to foot reflexology. This type of acupuncture has been around for over 50 years. Auriculotherapy has had tremendous success for the treatment of chronic pain, Parkinson's and even smoking cessation.

Auriculotherapy for smoking cessation is up to 80% successful if you follow the treatment plan.

Getting Started:

1. You have to want to quit!
2. Dispose of all cigarettes, lighters, ashtrays, etc before or during treatment.
3. Do not smoke for 2 hours before your appointment.
4. Before treatment: start to cut back and mentally prepare yourself to be a non-smoker.
5. Think of 5 things you can do to occupy yourself if you have a craving.
Remember: smoking is just as much a habit as it is an addiction.
    a. What are you going to do instead of an after meal cigarette?
    b. What are you going to do during your normal smoke breaks?
    c. What about first thing in the morning?
    d. What if people are smoking around you?
    e. What are you going to do if you have a few cocktails and everyone around you is smoking?
6. Drink a lot of water. Research shows cravings are worse if you are dehydrated.
7. Take extra vitamin C. Research also shows vitamin C helps with craving. Nicotine actually depletes your vitamin C stores.
